Elinor Giesbrecht nee Rushoc

Elinor Giesbrecht

March 4, 1941 – September 7, 2019

It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that the family announce the passing of Elinor on September 7, 2019 at the Riverview Health Centre at the age of 78.

Elinor is survived by her husband, Victor, of 60 years; two children, son Terry (Sandra); and daughter Lisa (Emil); two sisters, Joan Cherewyk and Judy Tudor; as well as nieces and a nephew.  Elinor was predeceased by her parents, John and Kay Rushoc.

Elinor grew up and went to school in Brooklands, Winnipeg, then moved to Charleswood in 1971, where they settled ever since.  Elinor’s loves were her family, gardening and camping in their trailer. Many wonderful memories were made travelling across Canada, with a special trip up to Alaska. Elinor will be greatly missed by all, including many friends.  As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses for over 48 years, Elinor found great comfort from the Bible and God’s future promise for the earth recorded at Revelation 21:3,4, when there will be no more sorrow, pain or death.

The family would like to thank the staff at Riverview, the doctors and nurses that provided such tender care.

As per Elinor’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no service will be held.  Flowers are gratefully declined.
