Cindy Belle Belanger

Cindy Belle Belanger

December 19, 1958 – April 12, 2024

It is with broken hearts that the family of Cindy Belanger (nee Dusome) announce her passing on Friday April 12, 2024. After a very brief battle with cancer, Cindy passed away at Health Sciences Centre Hospital with family by her side.

Cindy was a loving daughter, wife, mother, aunt, partner, and friend.

Cindy was predeceased by her husband of 27 years Joseph Belanger, her parents; Jacqueline and Stephen Dusome, brother Allen Dusome and nephew Blake Dusome. As well as brothers-in-law; Amos Lamoureux and Cam Zaharia.

Cindy will be dearly missed by her loving daughter LeeAnn Lee (Jamie), sisters; Susan Dusome and Betty Lamoureux, her partner Mark Pankiw and his family, sister-in-law Cheryl, her niece and nephews, stepchildren; Dean, Jackie & Jeff and many, many friends. As well as her Grand “furbaby” Charlie, who she affectionally called “Bonehead”.

Cindy was born in Ontario and moved to Winnipeg in 1971. She met Joe in 1984 and in 1986 they had their daughter LeeAnn who they both fondly would call their “pride and joy” to anyone who would listen. Cindy and Joe were married at their home, in a Christmas Eve snowstorm on December 24th, 1992, with LeeAnn by their side as flower girl. Cindy spent her working years in the food service industry and had many loyal customers, if you’ve ever had a home cooked meal of Cindy’s, you’d know why.

Cindy will be forever remembered as a loving, kind, funny and caring person by her family and so many great friends she touched the hearts of. She enjoyed her life to the fullest. Spending time with her friends and family, enjoying our Manitoba summers, and cooking for her loved ones were her passions. Cindy loved hard, she welcomed everyone with open arms and a big smile and had a way of making everyone she encountered feel so loved. Cindy loved her daughter more than anything and made sure that she (and the rest of the world), knew it.

Cindy you were a one-of-a-kind woman, with the biggest heart, you will be greatly missed by so many. We will cherish the memories and hold you in our hearts forever.

Thank you to the nurses and medical staff on GD6 at HSC who cared for Cindy during her last days.

As per Cindy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life in her honour will be held at The Silver Spike Saloon, 202 Bond St, on Sunday April 28th at 1:00 p.m.

  6. She was one of my best friends. We clicked the day we met at the central hotel. Our girls went to school together. We had so many fun times together. She was a god send to so many that needed her. Loved my Saturdays at the jam with her and Joe then my Sunday afternoons with a bonus supper. Fun times in Lockport at her and Marks. She catered many functions for me and for so many others. Pierogies to die for! Loved the bean bag tournaments. I miss you my beautiful friend. Love you .

Cindy is an amazing mother, wife ,friend, and cousin. Didn’t matter when the last time she saw me,she always hugged me like we never missed a day. She was the highlight of each and everyone around her. Proud mother and endlessly loving to everyone she knew. I feel blessed to have had her in my life and family. My Dad always said, what a beautiful person she is. She definitely was one of his favourites. May she rest in peace and hope that her family will continue to live in harmony forever. She was a great teacher of how we should live and love each other. Missed but never forgotten.

My sister my friend I have no words to express the pain and the void you left in my heart. I will miss you every day of my life. Loosing a sister is the hardest pain I have ever had to deal with. The only comfort I feel is knowing you are with the family gone before you and the love of your life. Rest in peace and tranquillity my beautiful sister. Fly high with the angels.
