With broken hearts, we announce the sudden passing of our father and husband, Allan Buhay, at 78 years of age.

He will be greatly missed by his wife Stella, sons Terry (Shelly) and Todd and grandchildren Allison and Amy. Surviving family include his brothers Mike and Fred and sisters Jean and Mary.

Al grew up on the family farm in Rackham, Manitoba. At the age of 19, he came to the city and landed a job at the T. Eaton Company in Winnipeg. It was there that he met his wife Stella, to whom he was married for almost 56 years. After Eaton’s, he joined Canada Post, working as a letter carrier for 30 years. While working at the post office, Al started his own driving school, Allan’s Driving Academy, also teaching Driver’s Education to high school students in the Windsor Park area in which he lived for 34 years.

Al was known for his sense of humour, his amazing barbeques, and his love of Ukrainian music. He took great pride in his lawn and enjoyed his backyard patio during the summer. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, and lived his life in service to those he loved.

Al passed away at his retirement residence in Lindenwoods on July 2, 2019. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no funeral. There are no words to express the loss from his passing, but we are thankful for every moment we had with him and will treasure him in our hearts forever.
