With great sadness, we announce the passing of Lennox Adolphus Sylvester of Trinidad and Tobago, who died at the age of 72—Son of Ermyntrude Sylvester and Hensley Sylvester (deceased).
He was a beloved father, sibling, and friend. Lennox Sylvester completed a diploma in mechanical welding and electrical, and his skills and dedication were a testament to his hard work and passion.
Lennox’s love of conversation and friendly personality were seen by all. He had a long and successful career as a welder and labourer. Although Lennox became a Canadian Citizen, he still maintained many Trinidadian characteristics, memories, and stories of his life growing up in Marabella.
He is survived by his four siblings, Patricia Mitchell, Rose Sylvester, Philbert Sylvester, and Fitzbert Sylvester; and his five children, Laverne Smith, Camille Sylvester, Kervin Sylvester, Felicia Mayes, and Janelle Sylvester. Lennox is the grandfather of, Nikisha, Akiel Lennox, and Anthony; great-grandfather to Ashada, Jordan, Jaylon, Attiah, LeBron, Nah’liah, Allision, Trudyann, and Princes; uncle to, Alicia Michell, Arjel Mitchell, Malcolm McNeil, Corey Sylvester, Althea Sylvester, Neilsen Sylvester, Nielandra Sylvester, Nielene Sylvester, Jevon, Kendall and many others.
Cousins of Lennox include Catherine Roberts, Jone Mitchell, Vivion Mason, Frankly Davidson, Martin Davison, Victor, Joanne, Janet, Janice, Laura, Lena, Winston, Catherine Martin, Franklin, Annie, Cecil, Richard, Marlène, Anthony, Carlyle, Daniel, Susan and many others. The friend to Fitzroy Stewart and many others.
Lennox Sylvester cherished spending time with family and friends, enjoyed reading, and swimming, and loved attending events. Lennox’s warmth and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service was held on Friday, September 20, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave. Interment followed Brookside Cemetery, located at 3001 Notre Dame Avenue. Pallbearers were Philbert Sylvester, Corey Sylvester, Kervin Sylvester, Dennis Horsford, Perth Wright, and Alicia Mitchell.
